  • Why you should save your searches

There are two ways to search for machinery or accessories on BuyPassDealer.com, a Quick Search or an Advanced Search. It is IMPORTANT  to save your searches because an automatic email response system will notify you when an end user seller has posted a machine or accessory for sale that matches your saved criteria.

  • How to Search for Accessories

To view accessories, go to Machine Type. Enter Accessories located in alphabetical order at the top. By scrolling down and entering Search, you will be able to view all Accessories posted by end sellers. If you enter Advance Search you will be able to specify the type of search that pertains to your interest. Accessories will be categorized as specific items and or industry field related items.

  • Step-1 Searching for a Machine Tool
This required field is a mirror image of the questions that end sellers will be required to answer. This step provides the information for the Quick Search that an end seller used to identify their specific machine tool. This step allows the end buyer to search for a specific model, manufacturer, price or the year of a machine tool. You must enter a (MACHINE TYPE) in order to search in the Quick Search field and continue to the advanced search.

  • Step-2 Machine Specifications
Again, this is a mirror image of the exact questions regarding specifications that the end seller will answer when posting their machine for sale. Depending on the type of search the end buyer performs, the more detailed specifications the end buyer provides the narrower the search. In contrast, providing less detailed specifications will result in a wider search. Exact machine specifications provides for the Advanced Search Option which allows end buyers to execute as detailed a search as necessary to satisfy their specific application or business need. In other words, the advanced search option will look only for the specifications the end buyer has requested.

  • Communication, End Buyer – End Seller

You must REGISTER or LOGIN to contact the seller.  The end buyer may contact the end seller by e-mail to discuss various issues, and ask any questions about the machine tool or accessory. Based on photos and the answers that have been provided by the end seller, the end buyer may determine if an inspection or viewing of the machine tool is necessary. The end buyer may want to request that the end seller take a few more detailed photos of the machine to have a better idea if this machine will fit their application. You may also choose an alternative method of communication if e-mailing seems cumbersome to gather the information you are requesting from the end seller.

BuyPassDealer.com monitors the flow of communication between the end buyer and end seller to insure the ethical and use of good standard business practices between both parties.  Upon completion of the transaction both end buyer and end seller are required to submit a ‘Finalization of Transaction’ form indicating the close of sale.

  • The Inspection or Viewing

You have now decided that an inspection or viewing is necessary. Typically the end buyer will schedule to view the machine to determine the mechanical ability and to determine if the machine tool or accessory will satisfy the in-house application or business needs.  The end buyer may contract an outside service technician to perform this inspection or viewing.  It would be important before the end buyer makes travel arrangements to ask the seller for the professional courtesy of holding the machine tool or accessory, and ask how long he is willing to hold the machine.  This will provide for a clear understanding between end buyer and end seller of what each others responsibilities and obligations are.

During the inspection be sure to obtain the L x W x H and the weight of the machine tool or accessory. This information will be required when procuring shipping quotes from machinery transport companies. These dimensions and weights can sometimes be found in the operation manuals supplied by the machine tool builder. BuyPassDealer.com has provided a list of manufacturers that may recommend the local distributor from which the machine tool was sold.  The local distributor can usually provide a service technician to perform an inspection as well.  BuyPassDealer.com has provided these service contacts under the Tools and Research section of the website.

  • Consummation and Finalization of Payment

End user buyer will make payment directly to end user seller.  This form of payment will typically be of certified funds, either bank wire or certified check.

The method of funding should be discussed between the end buyer and end seller prior to prep work and/or disconnect of the machine tool or accessory.  Bank wire or certified funding is usually required.  The end seller is also aware that clear title must be provided at time of funding.  If the end seller has a deficiency to be paid to the bank to clear title, the end seller may inform the end buyer that two or more methods of payment may be needed.  BuyPassDealer.com has provided another service for the buyers called Title Search.  This link provides a service for UCC and lien searches.

At this time the Finalization of Transaction form and fee are to be completed and processed for BuyPassDealer.com.  It is the direct responsibility of both end buyer and end seller to negotiate and honor any contract entered into.  BuyPassDealer.com will monitor the flow of information and step in if we feel one party is not conducting themselves in an ethical manner or with acceptable standard business practices.

  • Machine Prep and Disconnect
This step is negotiable between the end buyer and the end seller.  The end seller usually is responsible for removing all coolants and/or oils.  The end seller may be receptive to perform the end buyers prep work requests and instructions, or they may request to be paid for their time.  The end buyer may also contract a service technician to prep and disconnect the machine tool or accessory if needed.

  • Rigging

This is also negotiable between the end buyer and end seller.  Many smaller machine tools and accessories can easily be loaded by the end seller.  For larger machine tools the end buyer should consult with the end seller for a recommendation for the rigging or loading. BuyPassDealer.com has provided under the Tools & Research section a list of Rigging companies which are sorted by state.

Your suggestions for rigging are important to us.  BuyPassDealer.com will make a concentrated effort to update and continuously provide all the necessary services end users require to buy and sell their machine tools and accessories. Click here for Riggers.

  • Shipping

BuyPassDealer.com has provided under the Tools & Research section a list of Shipping companies that can provide full air ride tractor trailer and tarping services for the shipment of the machine tool or accessory. Shippers will require the L x W x H dimensions and weights, which should have been documented during the inspection process.

Be sure to request a Certificate of Insurance from the shipper of your choice to ensure they are providing enough insurance to cover each load. Click here for Shippers.

  • How to Post an Accessory for Sale

To post an accessory for sale go to Selling Machinery.  Enter Accessories located in alphabetical order at the top.  Next, scroll down and enter the price for this accessory.  Enter accessory type and choose the specific item or industry field related item that pertains to your listing.  (If it is not there e-mail us, we will add it immediately for you.)  Fill out a description and/or specifications for your posting.  Next, upload your photo and you are finished.

  • Advanced Reverse Search (ARS)
Sellers, if time is of the essence and you need to sell your machine tool quick, now you can proactively search for end buyers for your machine tool with our Advanced Reverse Search.  Here is how it works; log in and go to My Postings.  Click on ARS, this will conduct a search by machine type and show you anyone who has posted a search under this machine type category.  Select Advanced Search and this will take you to the specifications page.  This allows you to search by a single specification or by a group of specifications. For example; Machine Type, Horizontal Machining Centers (CNC).  You want to find any end buyer who has posted a search for 40” pallets.  Type in 40” for pallet size and search.  If you find a match click on contact and send a message to the end buyer to determine if your machine tool may satisfy his needs.

  • Step-1 Posting a machine for sale
This required field is a mirror image of the questions that end buyers will be required to answer.  This crucial first step provides the Quick Search Information that an end buyer will use to identify a specific machine tool or accessory.  It is very important that the correct (MACHINE TYPE) is selected, otherwise the machine tool you have posted may never be found.

  • Step-2 Machine Specifications
Again, this field is a mirror image of the exact questions regarding specifications that the end buyers will answer depending on the type of search they require.  The more detailed specifications the end seller is able to provide, the greater the opportunity for the end buyer to find the machine tool that you, the end seller has posted.  This information provides for the Advanced Search Option which allows end buyers to execute a detailed search to satisfy their specific application or business need.  In other words, the advanced search option will look only for the specifications the end buyer has requested.

  • Step-3 Uploading Photographs

Photographs are an extremely important part of selling your machine tool.  BuyPassDealer.com recommends that you capture the following shots:  entire front, entire left side, entire right side, and one of the inside or work area.  (Remember that the website will automatically resize your photos.)  As interest in your machine tool increases, an interested buyer may request additional photos providing more detail and taken from different angles.

Please note that when you are uploading photos, the photos must be on the hard drive/desktop/etc. of the computer that you are working on.  The site will not be able to pull photos from another network computer.

  • Special Searches

The Advanced Reverse Search is BuyPassDealer.com's intellectual property that will allow end sellers to proactively search for end buyers machine specifications and pricing to try and match with the end sellers machine tool or accessory.

The Advanced Reverse Search will allow the end seller to look for an end buyer that may have a need for their machine tool, however, the price and certain specifications may not fall in line with the specific information that the end buyers used in their search criteria.  The goal of the Advanced Reverse Search is to allow end sellers to find any potential end buyer by providing as much detail or as little detailed specifications as possible.  The more detailed criteria used in the search the fewer number of end buyers will be provided.  The less detailed criteria used, more end buyers will be provided.

The benefit of using the Advanced Reverse Search option is to assist end sellers in proactively moving their machine tool in a timely manner. Price, control, specification, and features are traditionally the most important aspect of an end buyer’s search.  End sellers can search for end buyers by using the same search criteria.  Additionally, similar criteria and specifications may satisfy the end buyer's application but were not inputted properly, or may have been omitted by the end seller when the machine tool was listed.

  • Communication, End Seller – End Buyer

The end buyer will contact you by e-mail to discuss various issues and ask you questions about the machine tool or accessory. This is where the end buyer will determine, based on the questions you have answered and the photographs they have seen, if this machine could satisfy their application or business need. At this point the buyer will determine if a viewing is necessary. You may also choose an alternative method of communication if e-mailing seems cumbersome to express the condition of the machine.

BuyPassDealer.com monitors the flow of communication between the end buyer and end seller to insure the ethical and use of good standard business practices between both parties.  Upon completion of the transaction both end buyer and end seller are required to submit a Finalization of Transaction form indicating the close of sale.

  • The Inspection or Viewing
The end buyer has requested a viewing of the machine tool to determine its condition. The end buyer may also contract an outside party to view the machine as well. During this inspection all manuals, schematics and any information he has requested should be available. Being prepared will expedite the time frame for which the end buyer or contract inspector will need to inspect the machine tool. Cleaning the machine or providing maintenance records are also helpful.

  • Consummation and Finalization of Payment

End user buyer will make payment directly to end user seller.  This form of payment will typically be of certified funds, either bank wire or certified check.

Methods of funding between the end seller and end buyer should be discussed prior to the prep work or disconnect of the machine tool or accessory. The end buyer will also request that once funded, clear title will be provided at this time. If the end seller has a deficiency to be paid to the bank to clear title, the end seller may inform the end buyer that two or more methods of payment may be needed. One or more payments to the lien and or title holders and one to the end seller.

This is a negotiable item. The end seller usually removes the coolants and/or oil.  The end buyer may ask the end seller if he may pay the end seller, or the end buyer will contract a service technician to prep and disconnect. This is entirely up to the end seller and end buyer.

  • Rigging
This is also a negotiable item.  Many smaller machine tools and accessories can easily be loaded by the end seller.  If you are not comfortable with the responsibility of the loading, do not get involved. The end buyer will probably ask the end seller for a recommendation to provide for the rigging or loading of the machine.  Your suggestions for rigging are important since BuyPassDealer.com will make a concerted effort to upgrade and provide all the necessary services the end users need to buy and sell their machine tools and accessories.

  • Shipping
We recommend that this become the responsibility of the end buyer. At this time the end buyer has funded for the machine tool or accessory and title has transferred. The end seller may choose to assist the end buyer with organizing the rigging and shipping company.
